Sigh its a CPU issueso many ppl here that dont know what there talking aboutDarthmod usually cranks up the number of soldiers per units4 x 20 = 80 units with units of 200 men thats 16,000 soldiers with even larger numbers I believe the last time I played Darthmod it was 300-400 men per unit at which case thats 0 soldiers.the game is SINGLE THREADED thus a single CPU core is handling physics / ai / animation subsystem / battle statistics etc. At one point I had to a reinstall of windows from the ground up then reinstall Empire just to get it running properlyThe game is quite frankly a frigging mess. Changing that modifier in the proper txt file will let you keep all the awesome that comes with Darthmod but with modified unit sizes your CPU can actually handle.In some cases even that wont work and a full reinstall of the game is necessary. The dme folder in campaigns/ doesn't have that. With the files there, the game doesn't launch, without the files I get it to work.
The game doesn't like having the dme pack files in Empire Total War/data/. 2.1 Virginia Colonists (episode I) 2.2 British Colonials (episode II) 2.3 United States (episode III) 2.4 United States (GC) 3 Warpath Campaign. EDIT : I have tried, but I can't get it to work.

There is a script somewhere that lets you designate unit size for the campain via modifierso if 1x = 200 1.5 = 300 2.0 = 400 etc. I was recently asked to show how to install Darth Mod ,and ask it had been a while I thought Id take the opportunity to make a handy vid.Socials Discord. Thanks for the guide I've just picked up the total war bundle, your timing is perfect :D. I went ahead and downloaded it before uninstalling Darthmod (not sure if that makes a difference). Dial back troop numbers and you wont have a problem.
